1. Valery, I overlooked your edition of reply. Thank you again.
2. Paul, I submitted this nice creature to Gallery as
Elaphromyia (pallda?)
.
Could I ask you to place it as
Elaphromyia near pallda
?

Dear Valery, presently only Olga Ovchinnikova from ZIN (S-Petersburg) is working with Tephritiedae. Thus, I send Ethiopian series to ZIN (it is 7♂ and only 1♀ alas).
If you want to describe new species, please, contact with Olga. If you need any help to visit S-Petersburg, do not hesitate to contact with me.

Valery, last week I collected what I believe really is Elaphromyia pallda. You was right Tanzanian (Mbeya Range, 8.847S 33.532E, 2390m) and Ethiopian specimens are different.

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
