I have seen this one on Fagus sylvatica yesterday. In the wood of Lauzelle, Belgium. It was visiting the bark of the tree and I wonder if it was for dropping the eggs there. It's slightly smaller than Musca domestica, it seems. The back is curved and the wings do close the abdomen in a very round shape. There were three specimens there. Two with the body completely black and this one. I am waiting for your input as I am not used with this gender.
