Hi, I found this dead next to my pond, near Lincoln UK. I think it was ~5mm long. Small head! 28th April Janet

Female Bibionidae, probably Bibio. Males have larger heads. |

Thanks John, I looked at Bibionidae first but I had an Empid (Clinocera stagnalis) which was not so different in the wing venation. I'll change the title, the wing venation does match Bibio well but it's not one I'm familiar with.. Edited by blowave on 09-05-2011 01:15 http://cubits.org... |
