France, Dordogne. 14th April 2011. Deciduous woodland on limestone. Male patrolling territory above small stream.
Using Mark van Veen's book, I come out with Temnostoma meridionale - restricted yellow spots on thoracic dorsum.
The website http://syrfid.ens... lists this species for just 4 departements including Dordogne, though maybe it is more widespread?

Temnostoma meridionale male, as the yellow spots before the postalar lobes don't cover the lobes (as they do with T. vaspiforme). Also the yellow streaks at the suture are interrupted.
