Hello,

I got two different flies on the same day on Ivy, 15th October. (my garden near Lincoln UK).

The previous fly I had and is in the gallery, Campichoeta obscuripennis, seems to be the same but there looks to be differences.

The first fly, pics 1 & 2, has the white tip to the tail but the antennae look smaller and the face not as long. That could be an illusion due to the angle, it is a female so is probably the same species.

The second fly, pics 3 & 4 I think could be the male of the same species! They both had the same wing pattern, dark with two light patches separated by a dark area in the middle.

Is this correct?

Thanks Paul, sure enough for the gallery? It would be good to show the wing pattern as well as the male.

Sure, sumbit them. For certainty I will check them when I get back to the office but I am quite confident.
