I would already be happy to find a genus for this one. found in a marshy area in North Belgium.
Although I'm no fly expert, I never saw one close like this ... which is why I made the shots. They were rather numerous aranoud the area , hiding in the wet grass.

A Scathophagid male, resembles Cordilura pubera in the gallery.
