You guessed it ... another Bavarian tachinid (May 2001) that keys but I am not confident. Most Zeuxia have a long petiole but the Central European key says this species has R5 open or a very tiny petiole - and this specimen has R5 just closed on the margin.

I get complete determination fatigue when doing bigger amounts of specimens and start keying out absolutely weird stuff without noticing what went wrong. Then it's better to have a cold beer and keep a break for day or two...![]() |

Haha, very true - I tend to take breaks if I think it's getting too difficult.
