Beach flies (Ephydridae I suppose)

These flies was in very big numbers in the rocks and structures of the beach of La Rochelle, Charentes-Maritimes, W France, between the thousands of mussels, oysters and sea acorns, also some in the sand. A dead crab attracted many of them. Date is 11th August 2009. Please can they be identified? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Thanks |

I'm fairly sure these are Fucellia (Anthomyiidae), though photo number 3 has two smaller flies which look like Hecamede (Ephydridae)

Thanks a lot Tony! The smaller fly I thinked in a Canacidae (it's posted in another thread). I will put as Fucellia sp. I don't knew previously any marine anthomyid. They are exclusively near sea water. |
