The genus may be Sceliphron a slender mud -dauber Robert

Sceliphron is correct.
You should take a look at this thread on "Le monde des insectes" for the sp.

Which makes it Sceliphron caementarium (black petiole, yellow scape and propodeum, yellow tegulae, black femur 3 There is an account at to which I have added Didiers's excellentPfftPfft site. A wonderful insect. Robert

Tried to attach an image to a forum post. jpg, 32kB, 72dpi, no blanks, ... File name is correctly displayed, but when I click "Preview Thread" it just vanishes. Help!
