Recently I saw two Atylotus flies in our field. Could someone please help with the identification.

reference: La Fontouret, Saint-Gilles, Indre, France

date: 20090804 and 20090812

no spaces in file name, look somewhere under help for the constraints

That looks like a really big head so it should be fulvus.

No, I can't tell from this picture, that is why I kept quiet.
Female fulvus and loewianus are very similar.
