Wow - looks very interesting. I can't place it from the photo but it must be fairly easy - small petiole, hairy r4+5, shiny-black colour & "scooped-out" face ![]() Manager of the UK Species Inventory in the Angela Marmont Centre for UK Biodiversity at the Natural History Museum, London. |

A dorsal would help. Possibly Lydina aenea, maybe female Elocera delecta ? Theo |

I need to check some things, but for the moment I see no reason why it is not Lydina aenea. Very shiny black species with black parafrontalia, last feature less obvious here due to light ? Theo |

Lydina is mostly associated with forests, I don't know its hosts by heart, so I think this one is from the forest in the background. By the way, rather common, at least in Central Europe, but not on flowers. THeo |

Hi, Locally common in Finland. Late summer on warm, mixed forest edges, most often on Angelica or Pimpinella flowers. Jaakko |
