To me this looks just like a dark and grey Hydrophoria lancifer so I suspect it to be another species. Can it be ID'd? Size: ~5-6mm Date: 31 May 2009 Location: Vegetation (low) near a path. Anthomyiidae, probably Hydrophoria lancifer male. Arista appear plumose, although the rays are very fine and don't show up in photos. Lower squamae larger than upper, hence probably not Hylemya spp. |
