i'm not at all sure this is a Bibionidae, i've seen these quite often, and if i remember correctly they prey on smaller insects. they're quite small (i'd say about 2mm), this one was sitting on a leaf in bushy land in cologne, germany. the most conspicious thing about them (apart from the eyes) is a quite huge bulbous hump. cheers! s. sarefo attached the following image: ![]() [39.87Kb] Edited by sarefo on 18-06-2009 23:03 |
