Hallo again,

can anybody recognize the species of this fly? It was very small, about 3 mm, and I found it today on a willow in Southern Germany about 900 m high. It was situated in the shadow, so only with the help of digital manipulation I could make some details visible.

Many thanks for your interest

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
