Good evening to all, I collected some cocoones of Zygaena trifolli, took them home and and found that one of them was parasitized by a fly. The cocoon was left behing and found next to it a fly pupae which emerged today. The cocoon was collected at Valladares - Vigo (NW Spain) 10m days ago at al altitude of 350 mts. in a meadow clearing. Would be very pleased to know what tachinid are we talking about (if possible evidently). Thanks once again Rafael Rafael Estevez attached the following image: [157.7Kb] Edited by Rafael Estevez on 16-05-2009 06:58 |

Last year I have also collected some pupae of Z. trifolii and one of them was also parasitized by this tachinid. Some days ago I done the same thing and now I have a tachinid pupa, lets see if it's the same species to emerge. |
