Excellent picture ! To me, I can see only 1 row of strong bristles on the parafrontalia, so it must be some species in the subgenus Hyalomyia. Many species present in Spain.... Theo |

Yes, in my experience P.barbifrons always looks very black on the parafrontal area, even when you can't actually see the tiny hairs ![]() ![]() Manager of the UK Species Inventory in the Angela Marmont Centre for UK Biodiversity at the Natural History Museum, London. |
