This fly resembles a Phorocera (Tachinidae). But is it? I found it a few days ago in Bilthoven (Holland).

On waarneming.nl I got the suggestions Smidtia conspersa and Phorocera assimilis. Is it posssible to make a more or less certain id from this/a photo?

Yes, 100 % Phorocera, Tachinidae are slightly too difficult for waarneming.nl, with all due respect. Can't tell though, whether it is assimilis or a light obscura Theo |

Thank you, Theo. And from now, I'll be cautious about where I ask what. Kind regards Menko Vlaardingerbroek |
