Species-ID possible?
Hunting truffles
Location: Spain
Date: January
Size: about 1 cm.
Larval infestation of Tuber melanosporum.
could it be the same fly specie?

Yes ! t is the same species ! But it is really difficult to explain in few words on the flies morphology !.

No, S. pallida has not so much darkened veins. It seems that scutellum is setulose on the whole surface, but i can not see, if pleuras are setulose or bare. If they are setulose, it can be S. nemorum, if they are bare, it can be S. lurida. May be Andrzej tell more.

So, it can't be S. lurida species group because their larvae feeding on Allium and related plants ! Smile

In Spain larval infestation of Tuber melanosporum is attributed to Suillia gigantea.
I'll try to make better photos Smile
