Hi,

i need some help to identify this black fly from july/this year.

The photo was made in Western Switzerland, around 400 m above sea level, near the lake Neuchatel in fallow strips.

Hi Mielczarek and Susan,

first many thanks for your answers.

I looked for photos of Pipizella, but there are not so much on the web. And I also looked for photos resembling my fly in the group of stratiomyidae. I find this very difficult to judge.

Maybe both of you could explain your identification?

Or someone else has an idea?Smile

This is a Pipizella female.
