Hello, These should be Syrphidae-larvae. The first two look like Syrphus vitripennis in "Sauers Naturf?hrer". Are they, and what about the others ? Thanks, Ben Ben Hamers attached the following image: [94.15Kb] Edited by Ben Hamers on 22-05-2012 18:29 |

My guess would be that all of these larvae are Syrphus-species. Whether it's S. vitripennis, S. ribesii or S. torvus I don't know. They even might all belong to the same species, for Syrphus-larvae are very variable in their colouration. For example, see the pictures of white, red and brown colour forms of S. ribesii in the 'Colour gide to hoverfly larvae' (Rotheray 1993). |

Hallo! On 15-11-2005 I found hier similar larvae, in Switzerland at the Lake of Thun, 558m.a. sl.They were on the underside of fallen leaves of Acer campestris. What would you say, just [i]Syrphus[i] sp. or can anybody tell me more? |
