Hi,
Yesterday I watched a nice male Syrphid that visited Geranium pyrenaicum flowers in my garden. It had quite impressive hind femora. Unfortunately I do not know it, so I need help!
Thanks, Sundew

So it's Merodon for sure? I have much more pictures of this fly that might show other important details - except the genitalia... So if you would like to see another pic, please let me know. Otherwise I'd name the fly Merodon spec. and hope it will enjoy my garden and produce many babies. (Which a collected one couldn't Pfft.)
Cordially, Sundew
