12th April 2008. Bujaraloz, Monegros region, Aragon, NE Spain. Habitat: dry salty marsh. Size: about 12 mm.

Can be identified?

The Mediterranean species of Chrysotoxum are badly in need of revision. So any ID beyond "Chrysotoxum sp." would be in high risk of being erroneous.

The name you would get using published keys very probably is wrong. I have an idea what it COULD be but won't tell it Pfft because I think a wrong name is worse than no name. But "Chrysotoxum sp." is 100% correct. It would be wise to accept this.
