3.6.2025 in our garden. Rheinbach near Bonn/Germany, 210m above sea level, huge forest nearby. About12-15mm. ID possible - and what happened to its face? Thank you for your help, Jörg

Hi,

No Asiliidae so maybe move this post to the general forum. I think it will attract more Tabanid experts than in this subforum.
I think some parts of the pupaea are still stuck to its head.
