6.10.2024, park in Kyoto/Japan. Rather large fly, around 18mm, I guess. Can you please help identifying it. Andd any idea what she is feeding? Thank you so much, Jörg

Thank you Chris! in the meantime, a Japanese participant on Facebook diptera has suggested Machimus hisamatsui, which seems convincing to me.
