Hello,
collected on a flower of Cirsium arvense in my garden today, 27. June 2023. South-West Germany, Saarland

Am I correct in assuming that it is Peleteria varia and is the species still as rare in Central Europe as Tschorsnig & Herting stated in 1994?

Many thanks in advance and best regards

Yes and no, iavana ( ureent name of varia) has made a spectacular expansion to the north over the last 5 years. See my article in Faunistische Mededelingen.
