This is an old finding, and I had it IDed as *S. notata* for some time.

But now I wonder - while the connection points of r-r crossvein(??) and M-vein are close together and the A1-vein clearly separate are good characters for S. notata, I am not so sure about the strong angle in the M1-vein (green lines) - is this still ok for that species?

All requests are from the urban area of Vienna, if not otherwise stated.

My Diptera observations (and other living forms) can be found here, and corrections or comments over there would also be appreciated.

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
