Found this larvae when collecting with a pondnet in The Netherlands (Korendijkse slikken, 22.iv.2021). It was obviously a Cecidomyiidae (gall midge) but I was wondering if it can be identified to a lower level. It was very close to Dicerura in Mamaev & Krivosheina (1965: 136-138) for it has the stigma on elongated tubes and there is extra pair of elongated papillae in between with terminal spines. As the genus has not been reported from the Netherlands, maybe some other genus may be involved here. And perhaps a genus with (semi-) aquatic mode of life?
Suggestions are welcome.

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
