Hello,

I know this is not easy to identify a fly from a front view but it is probably a common species that may be recognized.
Large ie 10-12mm.
Loc. forest pond 20km West of Paris.
Several feeding on dead freshwater snail on the edge of the pond.
Any idea? at least of the family?

Thanks,

FRV
