 Male with enlarged antenna ([Rhaphium])

Brussels: I found those two in copula on Calystegia sepium. The male has much larger antenna's then the female. Can it be identified? thanks, Bart http://waarneming...w/44286101

Dear Paul, Certainly not R. antennatum, rather R. caliginosum or R. appendiculatum (which can have a small second generation), but to be absolutely sure you should examine the male genitalia. Cheers, Marc dr Marc Pollet (marc.pollet@inbo.be) |
