I'd appreciate any hint about this flower visitor. It vaguely looks like a Phaoniinae to me, but I admit there are many chances I'm downright wrong. Hi, I think it's one of the Sarcophagidae - Macronychia cf. striginervis. Greetings, Eric |

The pattern is nrgative of most Sarcs (black on silver rather than vice versa), hence Sarcophila or possibly Angiometopa. Can you give an estimate of its size ? Theo |

Thanks Theo - could it be a Wohlfahrtia (pattern and drop-shaded abdomen)? W. bella? Greetings, Eric |

I agree with you Theo that it could be an Angiometopa, of which there is also an undescribed species in Spain, as I think you know.
