Helophilus pendulus?

Is this Helophilus pendulus? How can I differenciate Helophilus pendulus from other similar Helophilus? Thank you location: Barcelos, Portugal date: 2006/08/22 ![]() ![]() |

Yes, it is a male of pendulus! It's face has a black stripe, so no trivittatus! The hind margin of tergite 3 and 4 are yellow, so no affinis. The hind margin fron tergite 2 is black above the small yellow band, so no hybridus. That leaves us with Helophilus pendulus! ![]() Greetings, Greetings, Gerard Pennards |

Also, the 3rd femur is partially yellow and 3rd tibia abour half pale which excludes affinis and hybridus.
