Hello,

I photographed this fly in Bazzano (AQ), Italy, on May 22nd 2020. I think it is a Tabanidae, but is it possible to identify the genus or species from these photos?

Male Tabanus lunatus (sl.).

The hairs on the eye are pretty difficult to see.

Thank you very much Theo! I think the hairs on the eyes can be seen better in the third photo rather than the fourth.
