A Tabanidae found in North of France, at Cassel, the 12 July 2020, in the sun, low on a cemented fence, on a path near a cow pasture.
Is it possible to say which species it is from these only two pictures ? Sadly, she was too low to take a picture of her face. I am sorry too for the quality, I took this picture with my phone

I have just received the very sad news that Peter Chandler has died after a fall at home yesterday. I have no other details at the moment. We shall miss him terribly.

2) Andersson, H. (1977 Taxonomic and Phylogenetic studies on Chloropid
