Hi,

I've keyed this female to Spilogona marina in Gregor and Fonseca but I'm not entirely happy with the determination. It was collected from a saltmarsh in Suffolk last month so the habitat fits. The anepisternum has two supplementary setae, prementum not properly extended but seems to have slight dusting, some hairs on the first abdominal sternite, looks like the postgenital plate has spines but again not properly extended, one extra notopleuron hair beside front seta on one side, femora 1 with full AV and PV rows, tiba 1 with dorsal and PV pre-apicals, femora 2 with c.6 anterior setae in basal 2/3 and a pair of posterior pre-apicals, tiba 2 with 2 PD in apical half and AD, A and PV apicals, femora 3 with full row of AD and c.4 AV in apical half, tiba 3 with 1-2 AD in middle, 2 AV in apical half and D, AD and AV apicals. I can take more photos if needed.

Photos are on this Dipterists Forum thread: https://www.dipte...ona-marina

Thanks in advance for any help,

Sam
