Let's say I am looking to find all articles (or books) related to one particular diptera species. Where should I look besides in the results of the common search engines like Google? Maybe there are literature databases or other sites not covered by Google ...

Google Scholar is worth a try as well, produces a different set of results compared to a standard Google search:
