May I ask for help in identifying this species, please? The picture was taken in northwest Poland, in August 2020

The green ones are Lucilia and the one in the foreground has 3 ac and a white basicosta = probably the very common L. sericata.

And I have one suggestion for your forum threads:
You may edit the subject (title) of your thread, if you received an answer.
This is very useful, if the id is not 100%, and may inspire the experts for the family to improve the id.
For example you may change "Calliphoridae ID" to "Lucilia sericata? <= Calliphoridae ID".
It is even useful if the id is correct as it improves the forum search.

Greetings, Eric

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
