Hello,

is it possible to determine the species based on the pictures? Recorded on June 20, 20 in Germany, Northern Bavaria. Size was 8-10 mm.

Thanks and Regards,
Eugen

Well it is a Sarcophagidae: Macronychia. This genus is pretty tricky to identify.
My very subjective impression, aka gut feeling, is male M. dolini.
Any chance of a lateral pic ?

Hello Theo,

many thanks for your effort. Unfortunately I don't have a side photo. I put the fly under Macronychia cf. dolini.

I will try to fix the messages this month. We have to make some other configuration changes before software goes out of support at end of year.
