Hi!
Photo on Finland Kokkola 20 June 2020.
Is it possible to get family for that larva?
Any help to genus or species is much appreciated.
Size 23m.

Thanks for help.

Hi Pentti, I think it's a caterpillar of a butterfly - and I'm a bit confused as it looks exactly like a young state of Saturnia pavoniella (Saturniidae), which is a species from the alpine regions of Italy, Austria etc.

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
