Hello all,
This diptera was collected in the Sierra Nevada near Mammoth Lakes, CA. It is roughly 3-5 mm long.

Help identifying to the Family level would be greatly appreciated.

Best,
Kyle

Poor picture. Mainly according to the visibly thickened right hind metatarsus I think it is a sphaerocerid.

Suggestion: always use a white background screen or even better: a white box.
Improves the quality of your pictures drastically

I will try to fix the messages this month. We have to make some other configuration changes before software goes out of support at end of year.
