Hello,

judging from the occipital bristles, which are strongly bent forward in the upper part, the shining tergites 6-8 and the general habitus I would say this is a male Neoitamus, but I cannot tell the species. "South pyrenees": Does it mean the Spanish part of the Pyrenees? The Spanish checklist lists only Neoitamus cyanurus and socius as Spanish Neoitamus species, but none of both is it.

Greetings, Danny Wolff

Thank you Danny... Yes, it is catalonian Pyrenees, about 1400 m. If you need the exact place, please tell me.

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
