I have some difficulties to identify correctly this specimen. I believe that it would be possible to define as Cheilosia bergenstammi. Is-it correct ? Many thanks for your expertise. Jean-Michel Garel.www.galerie-insecte.org/galerie/image/dos251/big/2403.jpg

24 of march cannot be bergenstammi, moreover, the black ring on tibia 3 seems too large.
I'd consider posting this thread in the Syrphidae subsection to get attention of the pros.

Thanks for your reply. This species was already observed on april 28 in Finistère department, one month earlier than my observation in Yonne department.

I am sorry, Jean-Michel, but you need to be more precise.
You posted a photo with "Jean-Michel GAREL : France : Brannay : 89150 : 24/03/2020". I have no idea if Brannay is Yvonne or Finistere or whatever.
Yes, bergenstammi is active on 28th of april no problem, but 24th of march is much earlier than 28 th of April.

To avoid these types of confusions, please always specify locality and date at the beginning of every post , thanks

Thanks Theo. With my apologizes;Brannay is in the north of Yonne. Yonne is the N-O department of Burgundy. With climatic changes, I was not afraid to observe one month earlier this Cheilosia.

I will try to fix the messages this month. We have to make some other configuration changes before software goes out of support at end of year.
