I searched my files for more undetermined Asilidae and found another three. I apologize for the poor quality. Here is the first:
7 km sw Bonn, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany (50°41‘30‘‘N, 7°01‘52‘‘E), garden close to a pine forest at 145 m NN, 2019-06-22. Is it a male Dysmachus trigonus?

Oh, this is quite difficult due to the quality of this picture.

The rather long gonocoxites do not fit D. trigonus. Furthermore the 8. sternit seems to be convex with a hair tuft. Maybe it is a male Machimus rusticus, The base of the mid tibia seems to be a little bit reddish. But the colour of the bristles of the fore tibia, the scutellum and the back scutum is quite difficult to decide on (dark or white?).

So rusticus would just be a weak suggestion, not an identification.

Greetings,

Danny Wolff
