Hi, I've found the orange larva in galleries of Ips typographus since a few days. The image is from 2020-03-01.
Any help to genus or species is much appreciated.

Greetings Eric

I have seen many larvae of Zabrachia in the last weeks on different trees and this Picea, too. The larva disappeared so is it possible, that the bigger ones are the last larval state of Zabrachia cf. tenella?

Thank you for your ideas!

Eric

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
