I photographed and collected this Asilid near Sándorfalva, about 12km north of Szeged, Hungary, on 04_08_2019.
Using Engels key, it keys out straight at Stenopogon elongatus. However, it has some features that do not quite mach the the specimen illustrated in
van den Broek & Álvarez Fidalgo (2017):
HERE

Red color is entirely missing in the thorax, restricted to the distal femure and tibia of L1 and L2, and to the "knee" of L3. External genitalia is also mostly black.
Tergites 3-6 are redish-brown dorsally.

Cell M3 is just closed at the margine (not stalked).

(According to Fauna Europaea, Stenopogon elongatus is present in Hungary, bit it must be fairly rare.)

Can someone help in ID-ing this guy?

(For some reason, I am unable to post pictures taken by using a microscope camera. Does anyone have an idea why?)

The system checks whether meta data correspond with the file extension. Perhaps there is a discrepancy there. In such case it usually helps to open the image in an image editor and use the 'Save as...' option to create a new file where both will correspond again. And, of course, there are the usual issueas with spaces and unusual characters in the file name. I added .JPEG to allowed file types, its absence may also have been a reason for rejection.
