Berlin - July 2019 Hello everyone, I must admit that i am thrown off by this one. I have no idea what it is. I tried the gallery and the letter A makes it easier to guess what it is. I think that it looks like it could be an Axymyiidae sp. is this correct? Thank you. ps: attracted to light at my balcony. also, my shoulder injury makes it difficult for me to get small moving insects in focus. sorry for the blurry head. This one never stops moving. johnes81 attached the following image: [33.7Kb] Edited by johnes81 on 29-07-2019 15:39 John and Nini. Naturalists not experts. |

Scatopsidae I am not very familiar with the families like Scatopsidae (or Simuliidae, on another photp). Generally their determination is difficult - and, as you told - your photo is not good. |

aha! i guess i should've finished the alphabet. perfect match. Thank you, once again, Jan. You are Wonderful! i have never seen this before and i've never read a single line about Scatopsidae. I will try to make better photos next time. This one ran around for a few seconds, then disappeared into the night. My apologies for the bad photos. John and Nini. Naturalists not experts. |

Paul Beuk wrote: Probably Coboldia fuscipes Thank you, Paul! I hope to meet this one again. I find them to be very strange and also very tiny. I thought it was a Thrips until i saw it through my macro lens. John and Nini. Naturalists not experts. |
