SW France 10 days ago, by the river Lot. Body size around 10 mm long.

We are a bit confused with this hoverfly which looks like this genus, but we have'nt found one with an orange based bicoloured femur of the hind leg.

Could it be another genus ?

maybe Tropidia fasciata ♀ ?

Thank you Helge,

I considered this option for a while, but it seems all Tropidia have the hind leg femora really swollen close to the apex.

Sorry to bother you again but some are suggesting it could be the Alder Wood Hoverfly Xylota abiens.

What do you think ?
