Berlin - July 2019 Hello, my Wife found this in the kitchen behind the wall light. I made a few photos to see what it is or could be. I think it is a female Chironomidae species but i'm not sure. I see two mites attached to the hind femur. The primary color is black or dark brown with golden hairs. Any suggestions? Thank you for your time. johnes81 attached the following image: ![]() [35.93Kb] John and Nini. Naturalists not experts. |

Tribe Chironomini. Wing markings suggest Polypedilum.

Thank you, John. Polypedilum looks right to me. You and Tony are masters of this family. Good work! edit: someday i will focus on identifying mites. I have too many photos of mites with sp. Edited by johnes81 on 26-07-2019 08:48 John and Nini. Naturalists not experts. |
