Hello!

A medium sized (8-9 mm) Tachinid from a meadow, actively exploring the low vegetation there. Two days ago, Ostwestfalen/Germany. Identification possible? Thanks in advance!

(P.S.: I think, both are the same individual - or at least same species, but am not 100% sure.)

Looks like Voria ruralis posted by me a few days earlier.

But if so, the size should be smaller.

I can't quite see if there are hairs along the r4+5 vein but it does look like a Voriini (down-curved facial bristles and strongly angled m-cu), so Voria ruralis would be the best bet Smile

Hello, Gabor and Chris!

Many thanks! The size could well be 6-7 mm. I always have difficulties not to go too high with my estimates... :-/
Best regards,
Jürgen
