Hello! This one visited the UV light yesterday night (Ostwestfalen/Germany). Length about 4 mm. Is it Lonchaeidae? Thanks! Hi Juergen you are quite correct, this is a classic female Lonchaea spp., broad shining thorax with few strong setae, all black apart from yellow basal tarsomeres, antennal flagellomere 2.5 x long as deep, females have this very braod frons. Unfortunately they are difficult to ID to species level based on photographs alone ........ best wishes ... Iain Iain MacGowan |

I've had so many small black flies here in the last days, I'm quite happy that I put this one in the correct family... ![]() Best regards, Jürgen -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Juergen Peters Borgholzhausen, Germany WWW: http://insektenfo... -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= |
