Can someone help me with an ID for this robberfly? Female, Reserve Naturel de la Ch?rine, Indre, central France, 27 July 2007. This was taken on the edge of an area of oak and birch forest which is reverting to heath scrub, the soil is sandy, there are many ponds/small lakes/reed beds/ditches and the occasional hedgerow. The nearby fields are grazed by cattle and horses. The prey is Ischnura elegans Common Bluetail Damselfly, male.

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
